IT IS AMAZING! Read a little bit of a book every day.

You can browse through a few hundred classics for free (or newer ones for a price).

I almost never draw. I probably have drawn a total of three doodles in the past five years. So, when I sat down this past Tuesday with a pencil and paper, I was surprised by results.

I really like the style of Dresden Codak and other comic artists who use a left-to-right, down, right-to-left style of telling their stories. It's kind of neat!

MPAA Admits Mistake on Downloading Study

Hollywood laid much of the blame for illegal movie downloading on college students. Now, it says its math was wrong.

In a 2005 study it commissioned, the Motion Picture Association of America claimed that 44 percent of the industry's domestic losses came from illegal downloading of movies by college students, who often have access to high-bandwidth networks on campus.

[....] now the MPAA, which represents the U.S. motion picture industry, has told education groups a "human error" in that survey caused it to get the number wrong. It now blames college students for about 15 percent of revenue loss.

The Video Game Industry Starts a PAC

From the New York Times, the video game industry has decided that it is time to enter the political arena. It seems that the industry is not content to allow politicians to continue with their tirade against the industry. (Multi-billion dollar industry -- sorry).

This is part of a larger effort. Another organization, the Video Game Voters Network, has been keeping young people informed for years about game legislation in the United States. They have also been encouraging their readers to make signs like the one below:

Be watchful. A lot of money is going to start changing hands.

As a slight aside, it will be interesting to find out if this will sway any politicians. Maybe Hillary will start lobbying FOR video games, since her stance is often as mutable as the weather. Her last proposed bill, the Family Entertainment Protection Act, failed miserably in congress due to First Amendment concerns. And rightly so.
